RankFantasy is for fantasy managers who are tired of trusting a number they can't verify. Every rating on this site traces to open, citable data and a published formula — no black boxes, no claimed expertise, no "trust us." Free to use, no sign-up required.

What we publish

The anchor is the Start Score: a 0–100 weekly player rating for QB, RB, WR, and TE, built from primary-source open data — nflverse (CC-BY 4.0, the backbone) plus two documented, stable Sleeper fields (injury status and trending adds). The exact formula is published on the methodology page. Every input is named; every weight is surfaced. It's computed deterministically — no machine-learning model sits between the data and the rating.

Around the Start Score is a growing cluster of free tools: strength-of-schedule rankings, bye-week planners, and more — all computed from the same open data, all with their methodology stated up front.

Why trust this

Authority here comes from verifiable sourcing, not claimed credentials. Every rating is reproducible: the data is public, the formula is published, and you can check the math. Where a tool makes assumptions (weights, baselines, pool sizes), those assumptions are labeled and explained — not hidden in a model you can't inspect.

We're also honest about what these tools are not. Start Scores are estimates, not certainties. We publish backtest results rather than cherry-picking them. When a tool is weak at something, we say so rather than papering over it with confident language.

Our commitments

• Transparent. Every rating shows its work — the component scores, the underlying inputs, and the published formula. A rating you can't inspect is the thing we're replacing.
• Free & no sign-up. All tools are public and stateless. Nothing to buy, no account, and nothing you do on the site is tied to an identity.
• Honest. Projections are estimates, not certainties. We never claim an accuracy figure we haven't measured, never call anything a "lock," and never give betting or DFS advice.
